The mediums used in this piece are acrylic and oil paint on canvas. The process used was layering the different colors through several glazes to create a more three-dimensional form of the bird. I was inspired to paint the ring-necked pheasant due to the many beautiful, vivid colors the bird offered, along the challenging aspect of portraying the detail and color of the pheasant.
