I depicted the American Burying Beetle lounging on a black eyed Susan. The beetles are found in Oklahoma grasslands, hence the black eyed Susan since they can often be found there. The beetles are critically endangered and are essential to the environment, so I was inspired to make a piece to spread awareness.
